Kentucky Rural Health Association

Mission: Improving the health of rural Kentuckians.

Vision: To be the trusted resource for improving quality of life for rural Kentuckians.

What is the Kentucky Rural Health Association?

The Kentucky Rural Health Association (KRHA) educates providers, partners, and communities on rural health issues and advocates with public and private leaders to promote equitable access to health care for rural Kentuckians.

Since its founding in 1999, KRHA has supported rural communities through conferences, training, and statewide collaboration focused on today’s most pressing rural health challenges. KRHA works to strengthen the rural health workforce, connect professionals and partners across sectors, and represent Kentucky’s rural voice in state and national conversations.

Membership in KRHA connects community leaders, clinicians, educators, students, and partners with statewide training, policy engagement, and collaborative initiatives focused on improving health outcomes in rural Kentucky.

How KRHA Advances Rural Health

  • Convening statewide conferences and trainings to support rural health professionals and community partners
  • Supporting workforce development and mentorship programs, including KHAMP
  • Engaging in legislative education and policy advocacy to elevate rural perspectives
  • Building partnerships across health care, public health, education, and community organizations
